American Pitbull Terrier is an athletic, energetic, intelligent, and affectionate breed of dog. It weighs 30-80Ibs and 19 inches in height.

American pit bull Terrier has a lifespan of about 11-13 years. The body of the American pit bull Terrier is lengthy, with a short whip-like tail. The size of the ears varies from small to medium and they’re set high on the broad flat head.

The most descriptive facial trait of the Pit Bull is its broad, powerful jaw. They differ in color. They have a short and shiny coat. The exercise necessities per day are 20-40 minutes and their energy level is regular. Its social awareness is very high.

They have a low propensity to bark, low tendency to drill and dig. In order to avoid weight, regain, their diets must be regulated, and they must undergo regular workouts. Fleas and ticks are the common parasites of American pit bull Terrier. Different problems such as joint problems, metabolic and digestive difficulties, heart casualties, and back pain may be caused by obesity which is a serious disease in them.

American pit bull Terrier tends to suffer from bone diseases such as hip dysplasia, degenerative myelopathy, and kneecap dislocation.

They also suffer from skin-related problems such as mange and skin allergies, and this is as a result of their short coat.

Routine care for American pit bull Terrier

  1. American pit bull Terrier should be supervised, door should be kept closed as this will prevent it from trouble.
  2. American pit bull Terrier should be moved away from objects in order not to injure herself or others with it.
  3. American pit bull Terrier has a low grooming need, so her coat should be brushed at least weekly.
  4. American Pit Bull Terrier have good teeth, so they can be kept perfect by brushing them at least twice a week.
  5. The ears should be cleaned weekly.
  6. American pit bull Terrier is a smart dog with lots of energy, hence keep her active.
  7. They are easy to train but early compliance and socialization are required to keep them from becoming aggressive.
  8. Feed a high-quality diet appropriate.
  9. Exercise the dog regularly and avoid overdoing it.

  7. Dry, scaly and itchy hairless patches on faces
  8. Leg stiffness
  9. Excessive incoordination
  10. Vomiting
  11. Bloody and watery diarrhoea
